End Times?

For about 2000 years now, people have been predicting the end of the world/ the Second Coming of Jesus.  While their intentions may have been good, many people lost their faith.  Your task is to do a litte research and post on here one of these predictions that never came true.

May 31, 1998: Evengelist Marilyn Agee said that the rapture would happen on Pentecost Day. This, she believes, would trigger the various events listed in the book of Revelation, including the war of Armageddon. As you can tell it never happened.

March 2002: Paul Smirnov, an Orthodox Christian, issued an Email to media, religious and music groups on March 20. It predicted that God would send an asteroid that will destroy Hollywood and the rest of Los Angeles on March 24. It will coincide with the Oscar ceremonies. He predicts that most residents of LA will not heed his warning and will needlessly die. He interprets Revelation 18, verses 2 and 21-23) as follows: The stone that an angel picks up is an asteroid.
"Babylon" is referring to Los Angeles.
The reference to harpists, musicians, craftsman and sorcery refer to Hollywood film producers

A woman by the name of Ellen White claimed that future events were revealed to her. "As the Spirit of God has opened to my mind the great truths of His word, and the scenes of the past and the future, I have been bidden to make known to others that which has thus been revealed..."

Some of her predictions included:
1. ADVENTISTS LIVING IN 1856 WILL BE ALIVE TO SEE JESUS RETURN
2. CHRIST WOULD RETURN BEFORE SLAVERY WAS ABOLISHED
3. MRS. WHITE WOULD BE ALIVE WHEN JESUS RETURNS
4. THE CIVIL WAR IS A SIGN THAT JESUS IS ABOUT TO RETURN
5. IN THE 1850'S MRS. WHITE SAID JESUS WAS TO RETURN "IN A FEW MONTHS"

Obviously, none of these came true.

Arnie Stanton wrote on September 16, 1997 that the 7 year countdown to Armageddon was to start he even quoted Luke 21:25-26 which mentions "signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars and on the earth distress of nations". He calculated that the Rapture would happen within a few months of September 29, 2004. It never ended up happening obviously.

Aaron--Did he give any reason for this prediction? Did God supposedly speak to him or did he just come up with this notion?
